This beautiful Embroidered Cotton Voile is going to be such a lovely addition to your spring and summer wardrobe!
It’s a lightweight cotton, very similar in weight to a cotton lawn, with a soft, smooth base that has been delicately embroidered all over in a tiny floral pattern. The embroidery adds just that little bit of extra weight and structure. While the voile base still gives a gentle drape and fluidity, the stitched detail creates subtle body and volume — perfect if you’re thinking of puff sleeves, soft gathers or tiered skirts and dresses with beautiful shape.
Being 100% cotton, it’s breathable, cool and wonderfully soft against the skin — exactly what you want to wear on warm summer days. Embroidered cotton is right on trend this season, and this one will sew up into the prettiest tops and blouses, as well as both semi-fitted and fuller skirts and dresses.
To give you a sense of its lightness, I’ve placed my hand beneath the fabric in the photographs. As you’d expect from a fine cotton voile, it isn’t completely opaque, but it still offers good coverage. Depending on the style you’re making, you may choose to add a lining — particularly for a skirt or the lower half of a dress — though that’s entirely down to personal preference.
