Description
This beautiful embroidered double gauze is made from 100% cotton and has an exceptionally soft handle. Double gauze is created by joining two fine layers of cotton together with tiny, almost invisible stitches, giving the fabric its characteristic lightly textured appearance, gentle drape and softly cushioned feel.
Lightweight, breathable and naturally comfortable against the skin, this fabric is particularly lovely for warmer weather. The double-layer construction allows air to circulate while remaining opaque enough for many garments without requiring a lining.
This design features delicate printed stripes approximately 7mm wide, with palm trees embroidered at generous intervals throughout the fabric. The palm trees are non-directional, making cutting and layout simple, while the embroidery thread itself is beautifully soft, ensuring the fabric remains comfortable to wear.
Gentle enough for babies' and children's clothing, yet stylish enough for an entire summer wardrobe, this fabric would make beautiful dresses, blouses, shirts and co-ords. It would also be perfect for the relaxed wide-leg trousers, pull-on shorts and matching sets that are so popular at the moment.
I have included a photograph of the underside of the fabric which is white with the embroidered palm, so in theory you could use it as a reversible fabric.
