Description

Join us in the Sewing Studio at The Fabric Boutique for a lovely day of sewing, learning and creating as you make the Roseclair Wrap Dress by Cashmerette.

This gorgeous, floaty wrap dress is a joy to wear and a really satisfying make. It’s a wonderful choice for confident beginners, with thoughtful design details that make fitting far less daunting.

It’s also nursing friendly, making it a very practical and wearable addition to your handmade wardrobe.

Led by experienced sewing teacher Emma Smith, the course is designed to build confidence and skills at a steady, supportive pace. Emma has been teaching for many years and is known for her patient attentive approach. There’s plenty of guidance and time to ask questions along the way.

Cashmerette patterns include three cup sizes, from C to H, and the pattern is available in sizes 0–32, meaning the dress is shaped to fit you properly and comfortably. When booking, please add whether you require size 0-16 or 12-32 in the notes section. Don’t worry too much if you’re not sure what size you’ll be - we can help!

You can choose from three different views:

• An ankle-length tiered skirt with bishop sleeves

• A knee-length full skirt with short sleeves

• A knee-length full skirt with on trend puff sleeves

Please note: If you choose the ankle-length tiered skirt version, this option does involve a little more sewing than the other views, so you may not quite finish within the workshop time. That said, you’ll have completed all the fitting and the most important construction stages, and anything left to do can easily be finished at home. Emma will talk you through the remaining steps and you’ll also have the excellent Cashmerette instruction booklet to guide you — and of course, many people do manage to finish on the day too.

The workshop runs over 7 hours, with lots of support throughout. Our lovely tutor, Emma, will guide you through every step - from choosing the correct size and making any grading adjustments, to sewing the dress and fine-tuning the fit so it feels just right for you.

The workshop price includes the paper pattern, which you’ll be able to take home afterwards, ready to make many more Roseclair wrap dresses for your wardrobe.

A warm, welcoming workshop where you can slow down, build your skills and leave with a dress you’ll truly love wearing*.

This workshop is best suited to confident beginners and intermediate sewers who are happy using a sewing machine and following a pattern, and would like to build their skills while creating a beautifully wearable garment.

We recommend a light to medium weight woven fabric, such as a viscose, viscose/linen blend, chambray, cotton, cotton blends. If you’d like help choosing fabric, just let us know - we’re always happy to point you in the right direction. You’re also very welcome to arrive 30 minutes early on the day to choose and purchase fabric in the shop.
