An exceptional dressmaking fabric from Lady McElroy, the renowned British fabric brand known for its distinctive prints and premium quality. Shadow Floral Peach is printed on their exclusive Storrie Sateen basecloth.
Woven from 86% rayon and 14% cupro, this beautiful fabric feels, for all the world, like silk. It is exceptionally smooth and soft to the touch, with a gentle lustre that catches the light without ever appearing shiny. It has an incredibly smooth finish and beautiful fluidity, allowing it to drape with almost liquid movement while remaining wonderfully soft against the skin.
The striking watercolour design features inky florals and delicate leafy stems set against a soft peach background. The painterly print allows subtle shades of forest green and deep teal to emerge through the almost-black blooms, while touches of raspberry and coral add depth and movement. The watercolour effect softens the design, giving the floral a contemporary feel.
Its beautiful drape makes it perfect for garments that rely on movement. Floaty dresses, full skirts, blouses, camisoles, wide-leg trousers and jumpsuits are all wonderful choices, while gathers, tiers and ruffles fall beautifully without adding bulk. It would make a beautiful dress for a wedding, garden party or Christmas celebration, yet it’s equally easy to imagine sewn into a full skirt worn with a classic black cashmere jumper or made into a simple camisole to wear with tailored black trousers.
The silk-like handle also makes it a wonderful choice for elegant slips, floaty nightdresses and beautifully draping dressing gowns.
