Description
This 100% cotton yarn-dyed fabric features a bold oversized check in jet black, marled grey and soft ivory, finished with delicate red stripes for a subtle pop of colour that really warms the design beautifully.
Sitting somewhere between a cotton lawn and a cotton poplin in weight, this fabric has a lovely balance to it — lighter and softer than a poplin, but with a little more substance than a lawn. It feels smooth and breathable whilst still having enough body to hold shape beautifully, making it a fantastic choice for garments with soft volume and structure.
Because the yarns are dyed before weaving rather than the pattern being printed onto the surface afterwards, the checks have a richness and depth that gives the fabric a more premium feel, with the woven design running all the way through the cloth rather than simply sitting on the surface.
This cotton would work beautifully for shirts, blouses and tops, especially styles with gathered sleeves, soft ruffles, tiers or gentle shaping.
