A lovely soft 100% cotton double gauze in a classic small check. Warm chocolate brown against a navy blue background gives it a really wearable feel that would work beautifully for both adults and children.
The check isn’t printed onto the surface; it’s yarn-dyed and woven into the fabric itself, so the design is visible on both sides of the cloth.
If you’ve never used double gauze before, it’s made from two fine layers of loosely woven cotton gauze, joined together at tiny intervals. Those two layers give it a little more substance than a single gauze while keeping all that lovely softness and breathability. It has a gently crinkled texture, feels wonderful against the skin and becomes beautifully soft and relaxed to wear.
At 120gsm, it’s light and breathable but still has enough body for all sorts of dressmaking. Think relaxed tops and blouses, easy dresses, skirts, loose trousers and co-ords, as well as rompers and children’s clothing.
It’s also a particularly lovely choice for babies. This fabric is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances, so you can happily use it for clothing that will sit against delicate little ones skin.
Double gauze isn’t just for summer either. Imagine a relaxed dress layered with a cardigan, tights and boots, or a soft blouse worn with your favourite jeans.
