Description
A beautiful deadstock designer fabric from Paul Smith, woven from a linen and viscose blend (exact composition unknown). Soft and smooth against the skin, it combines the subtle slub texture of linen with the fluid drape and movement that viscose brings. The linen-rich blend is breathable, cool and comfortable to wear, making it a lovely choice for warmer weather.
The blend offers the best of both fibres, with enough body to hold shape and structure while still draping beautifully. It presses well and is ideal for details such as collars, cuffs and button plackets, while retaining enough softness for gathers, tiers and gently puffed sleeves.
It has a good weight and excellent coverage, making it suitable for a wide range of garments without being see-through. Perfect for dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, tops, blouses and shirts, it is a versatile fabric that is as practical as it is beautiful. The need for lining a garment would be personal preference rather than a necessity.
Thanks to the viscose content, it is also less prone to creasing than pure linen, making it an easy fabric to wear.
