A beautiful quality Japanese cotton gingham from Lady McElroy, wonderfully soft with a luxurious handle and a lovely natural woven texture.
Made from 100% cotton, this gorgeous gingham is yarn-dyed, meaning the individual yarns are dyed before being woven together, rather than the design being printed onto the fabric. This gives the checks a beautiful depth of colour and an authentic woven appearance. Look closely and you’ll notice a gentle natural slub that adds a little character to the weave.
This lovely cotton has a pleasing amount of body and structure whilst remaining soft and comfortable against the skin. It holds shape and volume beautifully, making it particularly suited to gathers, tiers and puff sleeves. It should also press beautifully for neat collars, cuffs and button plackets.
A fabulous choice for shirts, blouses, dresses, skirts, relaxed trousers and comfortable loungewear. We particularly love the idea of barrel-leg trousers teamed with a coordinating shirt or a cosy knitted jumper. And wouldn’t the Berry Red make a gorgeous pair of Christmas pyjamas!
Available in three beautiful colourways at The Fabric Boutique: Terracotta, Olive Green and Berry Red. Each colourway combines its own distinctive shade with a very deep, dark navy blue, which can appear almost black in photographs.
A little note about the colours: These fabrics have been particularly tricky to photograph accurately. The Terracotta and Olive Green are beautifully muted shades, whilst the Berry Red is a lovely rich, true red, reminiscent of a traditional Christmas red. The Berry Red has been especially difficult to capture, often appearing much more orange in photographs than it actually is. Please rest assured, it is not an orange-red! We’ve included a photograph showing all three colourways together, which gives a much better impression of the beautiful Berry Red and deep navy blue.
