Description

Take the next step in your sewing journey with this relaxed, feel-good workshop — the perfect follow-up once you’ve mastered the basics on your sewing machine. Whether you’re looking to refresh your skills, build confidence, or simply enjoy a creative afternoon, this workshop offers a calm, friendly, and inspiring environment where you can learn, make, and unwind.

Join us for this inspiring afternoon of creativity and fun:

Tuesday, March 17  1:30 pm – 4:00 pm

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the class start time so we can begin promptly.

Beyond learning new skills, this workshop is a truly enjoyable way to spend a few hours. Come along with a friend, bring a relative, or join us and meet like-minded new people. It’s a peaceful, mindful environment where you can relax, chat, and create — a perfect little retreat from the business of everyday life.

During the session, you’ll make your own fabric bunting, picking up (or refreshing) key sewing skills along the way. Bunting is endlessly versatile and makes a charming finishing touch for weddings, garden parties, birthday celebrations, nurseries, or even your own sewing room.

The workshop will be led by Anne Acosta, a highly experienced sewing tutor who has been teaching sewing techniques for many years, including at Loughborough University. Anne is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and gentle, and will guide you through every step of the workshop, sharing helpful tips, techniques, and insights to make your sewing experience enjoyable and rewarding.

You’ll leave not only with new confidence and practical skills but also with a beautiful length of bunting ready to hang and enjoy — and a few hours of creative fun and calm behind you.

 Key skills you’ll cover:

• Using a pattern template

• Cutting out accurately

• Sewing consistent seam allowances

• Pressing and turning to achieve sharp, neat points

• Attaching binding neatly and securely
