A beautiful viscose satin – lightweight, silky smooth and wonderfully fluid, with that lovely silk-like quality that makes viscose satin feel so special.
The satin weave gives the fabric a beautifully smooth surface and a very gentle lustre, but it isn’t shiny. Instead, it catches the light softly, giving it an elegant finish that feels and behaves much like silk, particularly in the way it drapes and moves.
The print itself is gorgeous. A high-definition digital print gives the loose, sweeping florals a wonderful amount of detail, with softly blended shades of pink, blush, cream, muted gold and touches of plum. The background isn’t completely flat in colour either; subtle variations in tone give the whole design a lovely sense of depth.
There are two colourways. Teal has a rich, jewel-like blue-green ground which makes the pinks and warmer tones really stand out. Mauve Grey sits somewhere between a smoky grey, muted mauve and soft slate, giving it a beautifully understated depth.
At 138gsm, this is a lovely lightweight viscose satin, but it still has enough substance to make it particularly useful for Autumn/Winter dressmaking. There’s lots of drape, fluidity and movement, so it falls and flows beautifully without feeling overly fine or delicate.
Think flowing dresses, floaty skirts, blouses and tops, wide-leg trousers, jumpsuits and elegant co-ords. It would also make beautiful camisoles, slips, nightdresses or dressing gowns if you’re feeling extra glamorous!
